What sand to use for sandblasting

What sand to use for sandblasting

For sandblasting we recommend abrasive (blasting material) aluminium oxide (Al2O3) – white corundum.

Example of the use of individual fractions:

F 220 – for sandblasting extra fine details

F 180 – for standard glass sandblasting

F 150 – F 120 – for sandblasting stone

It is necessary to beware of the so-called. Pepper effect, which occurs when there are grains in the fraction with a larger grain size than specified by the manufacturer. Larger grains will “puncture” the sanding stencil and cause damage to the product (dot). In this case, you need to change your abrasive supplier who has consistently graded the fractions of the abrasive supplied.

The sandblasting pressure is usually set at 2 – 3 bar.
