Ing. Jaroslav Koťara

I come from the town Svetla nad Sazavou, where many glass companies are located. For example, the world-renowned glass factory Crystalite Bohemia, formerly known as Sklo Bohemia or Bohemia Crystal and the historical glass factory Caesar Crystal, where is cased crystal still produced in the classical way.

I graduated on the High School of Applied Arts for Glassmaking in Zelezny Brod, Glass Technology specialization and continued my study at the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague, department of Inorganic non-metallic materials. I successfully graduated with a diploma thesis focused on the bubble motion simulation in an electric glass furnace.

After graduation I worked as a glass technologist at the famous Moser glassworks in Karlovy Vary. I went to England to a language course in 2009 and after my return I worked at the Vitrablog Glassworks in Duchcov, where glass blocks are produced. From 2010 to 2015, I was responsible for Sales department at the glass factory Crystal Glamor in Okroulice, (known before as Glass-Rubs) producing hand blown and hand cut  lead crystal with contain of 24% PbO.

In February 2015, I decided to set up my own company, Kotara s.r.o., which deals with glass trading, import sandblasting photomask films, production of paperweights with pictures sealed inside and custom glassware production.

International trade

Our business partners are from all over the world. Mutual confidence is verified by many years of cooperation, day-to-day communications and the realisation of a number of orders and projects. It is mainly the preparation of drawing documentation and the optimisation of products for manual glass production, searching for new producers and suppliers and preparing semi-finished products for the further cutting and gilding treatment. We also carry out complete delivery of finished products, including gift packs according to customer requirements.

About UV films Rayzist Photomask

We have been cooperating for a long time with a German company which sandblasting glass in large volumes. They spend about 15 pieces of 150-meters rolls of SR3000 UV Sandblasting films per year. That’s about 2.3 km of film per year! They have been taking the UV films made by the American company Rayzist Photomask more than 20 years. The products of this company were not available on the Czech market until 2016. Thanks to a very good cooperation we have been offered an exclusive distribution of these films for the Czech Republic. The films were quickly favoured by the all glass sanding companies in Czech-Moravian Highlands, Poděbrady and around the town Nový Bor and in other parts of Bohemia for their quality and good price.
